A small region
A territory full of resources
Umbria - a region full of nature bordering Tuscany, Lazio and Marche, is also called "the green heart of Italy"; it is known for medieval hilltop towns, dense woods and cuisine, especially truffles and wine. The regional capital, Perugia, rises in the hills and houses the Palazzo dei Priori, seat of the National Gallery of Umbria, is a small jewel that slowly opens up before the eyes of visitors.
The Umbrian town holds artistic and monumental treasures that testify to its rich past and do justice to the cultural primacy of our country. The meeting of different histories and cultures has always contributed to shaping the identity of the region, one of the smallest in Italy which preserves the evident traces of its past intact. Holy Umbria, warrior Umbria, green Umbria: all adjectives that describe this land, but which alone cannot contain its many aspects.
All the other Umbrian cities are able to offer visitors a rich artistic and cultural heritage, immersed in a fascinating landscape, a landscape that still retains something ancient and is struggling to fight industrialization and the ugliness of progress. Umbria is the region where folkloristic events, fairs and traditional festivals take on an important meaning: they preserve the diversity, localism and traditions that globalized civilization tends to destroy, a region to visit in order to discover art and culture of a small big region.
